Program Overview
Building on the SAS-developed “Introduction to Agile Project Management Course”, this course will teach Agile Estimation and Planning in depth, how to form and develop Agile teams, how to manage stakeholders in an Agile project, Agile contracts, Agile KPIs (including Earned Value Management as used in Agile), and continuous improvement.
Group work simulate real-life scenarios that will immerse participants into breaking down story points into their smallest possible scenario; the use of Kanban or task boards along with the attendance concepts of identifying work bottlenecks using Work In Progress (WIP) charts. Etc. Seat works are given for participants to learn how to compute common Agile KPIs, etc. Monopoly rounds exercises, as well as Product Roadmap simulations will also be given.
As with all PMI accredited trainings, the course is methodology agnostic. However, discussions on how various Agile methodologies such as Scrum, DSDM, FDD, XP Programming, Crystal methodology, and etc. will be made especially when discussing how Agile practitioners customize various Agile methodologies to suit their needs.
This course is approved by the Project Management Institute (PMI), a Pennsylvania-based Organization of Project Managers. If done in succession with the “Introduction to Agile Project Management Course”, this will award participants with a total of 28 PDUs. To sit for the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMIACP©) candidates are only required 21 PDUs. Together, these 2 courses are already sufficient for the candidate to take the exam. The seven domains in the PMI-ACP exam content outline are also covered by the two courses.
PMI is a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and is therefore the de facto standards development body for the project management profession. It awards the globally recognized, and highly coveted Project Management Professional, PMP© credential. For Agile Professionals, it awards the Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification. SAS Management, Inc. is a PMI Registered Education Provider (REP). This course will award 14 Professional Development Units (PDUs) which can be used to apply for any PMI credential, or to maintain their existing credential.
